RITIDE135 SHAWLETTE KAL
Before we delve into the pattern, as I’m teaming up with vivcrest for this fundraiser, we’d like to invite you to a spontaneous KAL that we will host over the weekend. We thought it would be nice to cast on this pattern together and try to raise some money for a basic necessity in life: FOOD!
RIPTIDE135 SHAWLETTE
Riptide135 Shawlette is a little sister to the Riptide135 pattern, just using 1 skein of DK yarn.
It is worked lengthwise, tip to tip, producing a long, shallow, triangular shawlette/ scarf. The neat smooth edges envelop strips of simple increases and decreases, producing a chain-like textured pattern that rips through the stocking stitch - ode to my tennis injuries of ripped muscles ;)

Sample measurements:
Length: 130cm/ 52”
Width: 17.5cm/ 7”
Measurements are taken with relaxed fabric after blocking.
Size is adjustable depending on yarn quantity you have available.
YARN
Crave Yarn, Caravan DK, 100g (210m/ 230 yds, 70% Superwash Extrafine Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Camel, 10% Mulberry Silk). Sample colour in Idyll.
1 Skein, 100g (210m/ 230 yds).
Should you wish to create a larger shawl, more yarn is required.
NEEDLES & NOTIONS
- Size 4.0mm / US 6 circular needle, 100 cm / 40” length (or size needed to obtain gauge).
Tapestry/Darning needle, Stitch markers: 3 total.
Weighing scales.
GAUGE
23 sts x 32 rows = 10cm x 10cm (4”x 4”) in stocking stitch, after blocking.
Gauge is not crucial for this project, but it will affect meterage and final size if different.
