This lovely and soft cowl is worked sideways from side to side, with side increases to form a tip on the front. When the piece reaches the necessary length, live stitches are joined with the CO end using Kitchener stitch.

The main feature of this little piece is the filigree colorwork: a fun and easy way to knit colorwork and cables together, with a subtle and striking effect at the same time.

Finished size: 60 cm (23.5”) smaller circ; 36 cm (14”) max depth.

Yarn
MC: Dark Omen Yarn SILKY SHADOWS (75% Superkid Mohair, 25% Mulberry Silk; 459.25 yards 420 m/50 g), col. Oblio, approx 150 m.
CC: Schoppel 6 Karat (80% Virgin Wool (extrafine), 20% Silk; 656.1 yds600 m/100 g), col. 2287 Meeresblick; 150 m.

Note: Choose two yarn colors with a good contrast between them.

Note 2: If you are sensitive to mohair, you can substitute MC with a cashmere haze or a Suri alpaca yarn.

Needles
One 60 cm / 24” circular needle (or straight needles) in size needed to obtain gauge.
Suggested needle size: 3.5 mm / 4 US.

Notions
7 stitch markers
Tapestry needle for Kitchener stitch and to weave in ends.

Gauge
24 stitches and 40 rows = 10x10 cm (4”) in garter st with both yarns held together, measured after blocking.

Note: Gauge is not critical for this project.
