River City is a design inspired by the river city in which I live. This pullover sweater is knit seamlessly on circular needles from the top down, with wide neckline and raglan sleeve shaping. (Raglan shaping is achieved through yarn over increases.) River City features a two-color mosaic border created with a series of slipped stitches, using one color of yarn at a time (no carrying yarns, no catching floats!) This sweater’s silhouette is relaxed/boxy with three-quarter sleeves — perfect for springtime and transitional weather, when a season-spanning sweater is practical. The neckline has short row shaping in the back. Sleeve length and body length can easily be adjusted to suit your individual style.

This pattern is written for five sizes with these finished measurements:

chest/bust circumference — 34 (39, 42, 46, 51) inches
body length from underarm seam — 10 inches
raglan yoke depth — 9 (11, 12, 13, 14) inches
sleeve length from underarm — 9 (9.5, 9.5, 10, 10) inches
upper sleeve circumference — 13 (15, 16, 17,18) inches

17 sts and 24 rows = 4in/ 10cm.
Gauge was measured over plain stockinette stitch after blocking.

This pattern is written for worsted weight yarn. The sample pictured was knit using Berroco Remix, a soft non-wool tweed made of 100% recycled fiber (30% nylon, 27% cotton, 24% acrylic 10% silk, 9% linen) with 100g/216 yards per ball. The overall effect of Remix is a machine washable yarn that feels surprisingly like natural raw silk, and is perfect for spring. (Substitute a wool or wool blend and you have a cozy winter garment!)

I chose the yarn colors for this sweater for their delightfully spring-inspired floral names:

Buttercup for the main color — 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) skeins
Peony for the contrasting color — 1 skein
