This MollyGirl classic just got a facelift! Updated for 2018 featuring more sizes, an easy-to-read layout, and brand spanking new photos!

Featuring a simple chevron lace pattern, this project is perfect for variegated and solid yarns alike. It works well with both smooth & textured yarns, and those with a halo too! Perfect for lace newbies (or a good TV-knitting project for those with experience!) the pattern is repetitive and easy to remember – a great way to learn to “read” a lace pattern and set a successful foundation for moving on to more complex combinations.

This pattern is now written with 3 sizes – Small, Medium, and Large. The Small size is intended to make the largest possible cowl using just 1 skein of MollyGirl Rock Star. The Medium & Large sizes as written are sized to make a cowl to coordinate with the River Deep, Mountain High Tam. Medium assumes you have 2 skeins to make both the hat & cowl, and the Large size assumes you have 3 for both. More than anything else, they are suggestions on the circumference of the finished cowl. The beauty of simple lace patterns like this is that they are very flexible – cast on any multiple of 10 stitches and you will be able to make a perfectly finished piece. If you’re really set on making a particular size, I suggest making a swatch (I know, I know, a swatch!!) to make sure you will get the length around that you want.

Thanks so much to my testers/samplers, ShannaLynn & Dasypus! Special thanks also to Sara Cronin, Jenny Engeleit, Xandy Peters, and Ruth Hollander for their modeling and photography skillz!
