♫ The Music ♫
BrunuhVille is a Portuguese composer who, his website states, “creates a world of magic and fantasy between the fusion of Gothic, orchestral, Celtic, folk, movie, ethnic and world music.” His Riverdel composition is a soft, flowing creation that evokes majesty.

Features

  • Riverdel is a top-down, boat neck shell with an A-line silhouette.
  • Both front and back begin with a narrow Garter stitch band.
  • The front yoke has a lace panel which may be worked in a contrasting colour, if desired.
  • The back and lower front are worked in Stockinette stitch.
  • The underarm panels begin in a single rib pattern to provide a better fit. As the A-line shaping begins (approximately 4” / 10cm below the armholes) the underarm panels switch to a texture stitch that matches the armhole edgings.
  • The bottom lace border matches the yoke lace panel and finishes with interrupted Garter stitch rounds.

Construction

  • The upper back and upper front are worked flat on a circular needle to the bottom of the armholes.
  • The back and front are then joined and work continues in the round.
  • The upper back is worked first to the end of the armholes and stitches are placed on hold while the upper front is worked.
  • Stitches are picked up along the back shoulders and additional stitches are cast on for the front neck to work the upper front down to the end of the armholes.
  • Work is joined in the round and worked as one piece to the hem.
  • Optional contrasting colour can be used to work the front yoke lace panel (instructions for colour changes included).

Right and left are referenced as the garment is worn.
