Nautical never goes out of fashion, and summer seems to bring out the sailor in all of us! Timeless and stylish, the Breton stripe was first championed by Coco Chanel in 1917, and it has been a favourite among the fashionable ever since.
Red and white is a classic combination that looks great against tanned skin, but the simple style of this sweater, not to mention the rainbow of colours available from King Cole, means it’ll look great knitted in any two colours. Why no knit it in navy and white and pair with capri pants, deck shoes and gold accessories for a look that suggests you’ve been reclining on a yacht all afternoon? We won’t tell if you don’t!
Knitted in stocking stitch, this is a great first garment for a beginner - it’s also a fab project if you’re keen to try colour chaning for the first time. We’ve chosen King Cole Gentle Touch DK to knit it, a premium acrylic that, as its name suggests, is incredibly soft to the touch. It’s also machine washable - great news if you plan to spend as much time as you can outside this summer!
Reach for our stripy, slouchy, boyfriend-style sweater when the sun goes down after a day by the sea - whether you’re barbecuing with friends on a beach in Britain or sunning yourself on the French Riviera you’re sure to look absolutely fabulous!
