Crossing here, there, and often at odd angles, the roads we travel intersect, thus giving us choices. These lace socks have diagonal “roads” which are created from strategically placed yarn-over increases and k2tog & SSK decreases. Heel construction is the traditional flap & gusset method. The pattern is given both by charts and by line-by-line written instructions. You choose whichever method you prefer.

11/26/2015: errata note. Line-by-line instructions for Rnd 17 missing a “k1” at the end of the repeat. Should read:
(k1, YO, k5, YO, k2, SSK, k2tog, k1). The chart is corrrect.
