Roam is a simple asymmetric bias triangle shawl, and it is the fifth design in a series of projects using the concept of Assigned Pooling.
Assigned Pooling occurs when a change in stitch and texture is assigned to changes in color within a skein of variegated yarn. In this case, stockinette stitch is assigned to the main color to create a backdrop for the tiny bobble stitch assigned to the accent color. Imagine roaming across fields of tiny flowers.

Yarn: Two skeins of Barker Wool BFL Fingering in any Assigned Pooling colorway. Shown here in Winter Field.

Finished Measurements: approximately 72” W x 24” D.

Needles: US size 5 (3.75 mm) on a 24-32” cable

Gauge: 22 STS x 32 rows = 4” x 4” in Stockinette ST

Additional Equipment: A scale that weighs in grams.

In all Assigned Pooling patterns, the basic shaping instructions will be given first followed by the instructions for the texture stitch assigned to the accent color in the yarn. Follow the basic shaping instructions throughout, and at the same time, work the texture stitches as the accent color comes along in the working yarn.
