Robot Mosaic Dishcloth
Buy any two dishcloth patterns and get the third free! Add three to your cart and use the code DISHCLOTH.
Robot sidekicks are always my favourite sci-fi characters.
The techniques for this pattern are easy! You only need knit and slipped stitches to create the pattern, and only one colour of yarn is used at a time. This is a great introduction to the techniques used for “mosaic knitting”, and creates a cute and practical cloth in no time!
This pattern includes optional instructions to experiment with intarsia techniques as well to change colours mid-row - though you will have a few yarn ends to manage, the end result is worth it! I also used optional embroidery to add a wave of electricity.
Yarn:
Worsted weight cotton yarn (4) in two or more contrasting colours, approximately 73m/80 yards total. Cotton yarn is recommended for dishcloths; but any fibre (or weight) would work for the pattern.
Gauge is not critical for this project, but will affect the finished size and yardage required.
Needles: 4.5mm (US size 7) straight knitting needles
Finished Dimensions: Approximately 9” square.
Pattern instructions: Written and charted instructions
