Summer of Scrubbies 2025 KAL

Introduction:
The Rocket Pop Scrubby is a fun U.S.A. tribute to a summer time favorite treat in red white and blue. Of course, you can knit yours up in any colors you like. You can also choose to knit it in one, or two colors rather than three.

Working flat you will knit garter stitch fabric until we reach the top of the popsicle. Shaping with simple decreases to finish the popsicle up, and finally picking up and knitting an i-cord at the base of the popsicle to give it that “popsicle stick” appearance.

Whether you’re knitting for personal use or to sell, this pattern is a joy to create.

Yarn recommendations

For the popsicle: Red Heart, Scrubby Sparkle, fiber content: polyester 100%; 174 yards/159 meters; 3 oz/85 g, or any yarn that knits to gauge.

And for the popsicle stick: Red Heart, Scrubby, fiber content: polyester 100%; 78 yards/71 meters; 3 oz/85 g, or any yarn that knits to gauge

Sample used the following quantities of yarn in the named colorways below.
CC1: Red Heart, Scrubby Sparkle in Blueberry, 2 (6, 11) yards/2 (6, 10) meters, one ball.
CC2: Red Heart, Scrubby Sparkle in Strawberry, 2 (6, 11)yards/2 (6, 10) meters, one ball.
CC3: Red Heart, Scrubby Sparkle in Marshmallow, 2 (6, 11) yards/2 (6, 10) meters, one ball.
CC4: Red Heart Scrubby Prints in Almond, 2 yards/2 meters, one ball.

Knitting needles
US size 7/4.5 mm, or size used to match gauge - straight or circular as you prefer. DPN’s or circular for knitting the i-cord.

Notions
Locking stitch markers (3), scissors, tapestry needle.

Gauge
19 sts x 30 rows over 4”/10 cm in pattern stitch worked flat.

Size Information
S, M, L, (etc.).

Finished measurements
2.25x4 (3.25x5, 4x7.25) inches or 5.5x10 (8.5x12.5, 10x18.5) centimeters
