This glove features a classic and elegantly geometric Shetland stitch pattern that reminded me of the Brooklyn Bridge, designed by John A. Roebling. Shown here in fun brights, this design would be understated and chic in a more
subdued palette, too.

The 8-stitch repeat color pattern is only worked on the hand—continuing the pattern up onto the fingers would present mathematical and design challenges to keep things lined up and would be too busy.

However, to ensure that the fingers get the benefit of the additional warmth of the lining created by the fl oats, the fingers are self-stranded, alternating two strands of the main color.
