Rolled Brim Bucket Hat
This is a quick pattern that uses truly bulky yarn, but can be adapted to use several strands of lesser weight worked together.
Stepping down one hook size will tighten up the fit a little. This pattern was made for a 21 in. head circumference and a loose fit.
Materials:
- About 50 Yards of Bulky Weight Yarn (~7mm strand diameter)
- Size Q – 19; 15mm Crochet Hook
Notes:
These instructions were written post production, and are my first to write out. I welcome all comments and criticisms with gratitude. I did not pre-measure the yarn, and so tried to overestimate the amount needed.
Gauge:
- Fits 21” head circumference loosely. Row 1 is ~ 3” diameter circle.
Instructions:
DC – Double Crochet
Row 1: Make a Magic Loop; Chain three; 11 DC in Magic Loop; Join (12 Stitches)
Row 2: Chain 2; DC in loop below chain; 2 DC in each loop of Previous Row (24 Stitches)

Row 4-6: Chain 2; DC in Every Loop; Join (30 Stitches)

Finish Off; Weave in Yarn ends and Roll up the Brim.
