Roosi Waratah
This sock is a blend of Estonian knitting and Australian inspiration to commemorate Aleks’ trip to Australia. It was designed as part of Bombed Yarn’s Monthly Sock Club 2025. The colours and motif are inspired by the flora and art of Australia. A beautiful motif inspired by the Tasmanian Waratah flower is created using Roosimine Estonian inlay and Nupp bobble stitches in contrasting colours on either side of the leg.
PATTERN NOTES
These socks are knit from the cuff down to the toe. The cuff starts with a folded Picot cuff followed by a few rounds of ribbing.
The leg is embellished with a chart pattern featuring Nupp bobble stitches in a contrasting colour along with Roosimine Estonian inlay. The chart pattern is worked on the outer side of the leg for a distinct left and right sock.
The heel and heel flap are worked in a slip stitch pattern that creates a faux rib look.
The toe is worked in a contrasting colour.
