This pattern is meant to be a starting point for all those knitters who have always been afraid of starting sock-knitting. Level is easy peasy for Sock Knitting, but I would suggest you to be confident with knitting in general before trying sock knitting.

SIZES
This pattern is meant to be self-adjusted based on your own foot-size. Note that leg width is fixed and it covers the range of women’s sizes. In this pattern you’ll find 39EU size as a benchmark to refer to.
PS: If you’re interested in a men’s version of this pattern, please let me know and if highly requested I can try to create it.

MATERIALS
In my sample, I used DROPS Fabel, which is perfect for socks, but you can choose any other equivalent yarn: the important thing is to check that the gauge is the same.
Sample is knitted using 2 colors: main color and a contrast color.
For EU-39 size (benchmark size):
- For 2-color version: 1.15 skeins main color (Sunset) + 0.5 skeins contrast color
(Off White)
- If you’re knitting a monochrome version: 2 skeins main color.
PS: Changing foot size and/or changing leg length could imply a lower/higher number of skeins. Basing on my test-knitters’ results, size range from 36EU to 41EU should require from 230 to 400mt approximately (if you refer to the same leg length I made in pattern).

GAUGE
Gauge is 30sts=10cm in round stockinette stitch after blocking according to my knitting tension, but check that you reach the same: if not, consider also the possibility of changing needle size to reach the same tension I had.

NEEDLES
I used 3 mm and 2.5 mm DPNs to reach the gauge with DROPS Fabel. Please adjust needle measurements if it helps you reach the correct tension with the yarn you’re using.
PS: You can alternatively use circular needles (same sizes) with magic loop technique if you feel more comfortable with them, instructions are not limited to DPNs.

OTHER TOOLS
Additionally, you’ll need:

  • a darning needle
  • yarn scissors
  • at least 3 stitch markers (possibly 1 of color A and 2 of color B)
