Rosalind Hat
The Year of Hats is back, this time featuring our latest yarn in the Germantown line, Germantown DK! The Year of DK Hats will feature 12 free patterns using our favorite knitting techniques.
October’s design is Rosalind by our very own Courtney Kelley. Inspired by the intricate knitting styles of Bavaria, the twisted stitch cables in Rosalind are a little maze of traveling stitches! Worked in the round from the bottom up, this delightful hat is a perfect way to practice working from charts, cables (with or without a cable needle!), and memorizing stitch patterns.
Buy a kit from our site or ask for it at your LYS!
Worthy of Note
Rosalind is worked in the round from the bottom up. All
knit stitches are worked as twisted stitches. There is an
increase round worked before beginning the body of the
hat. The body and decreases of the hat are charted. Work
the chart 7 times to complete each round.
When working the crown decreases, switch to DPNs when
the circumference becomes too small to work comfortably
on circulars.
