Rose Cottage is an old weavers’ workshop in the Cotswolds with doorways large enough to move looms in and out of the old stonework building. The Rose Cottage Cap is a tribute to weavers everywhere! It’s designed for a fingering weight, longwool yarn—a yarn that would often be used for weaving (or knitting outerwear). The pattern uses a double basketweave rib stitch for the brim and a slipped stitch for the main body of the hat. The sample is a size 22” worn with zero ease.

This hat is knit in two parts, first the brim is knit in a long strip and kitchenered to its provisional cast on; then stitches are picked up around the brim so that the cap of the hat can be knit in the round.

The pattern is available for $1 from Nov 9-17th with the code KTS_RCC

The pattern is written, but not charted
