A number of years ago I lived in Asia. One day, while wandering in a flower market, I noticed garden lattices with an English sign on them which read “Rose Ladders”. I loved the name and it’s been in the back of my mind ever since. Rose Ladder Socks feature an easy to memorize lattice pattern which wraps around the leg and covers the top of the foot. It is worked top down with a traditional flap heel and a grafted toe.

Techniques:
• Knit and Purl
• Working small circumference in the round with DPNs, magic loop, or two circular needles
• Working from charts
• Grafting/Kitchener Stitch

The texture pattern can be worked from either charts or written directions. Different charts are provided for different sizes to ensure the pattern is centered on the top of the foot. The pattern can be adapted for toe-up construction with no change to the charts.
