Skill Level: Intermediate

The pattern combines basic stitches, including single crochet and double crochet, with several decorative stitch combinations. All special stitches are fully explained within the pattern.

Yarn

The original sample was made with YarnArt Begonia (100% cotton, fingering weight) using a 2 mm crochet hook.

The pattern also works beautifully with Schachenmayr Catania Fine Solids or Hobbii Friends Cotton 8/4 Solids.

For a softer and even lacier version, you can substitute a finer yarn. To maintain the intended size, adjust the number of stitches in the first round while keeping the stitch count even.

After Round 6, measure the diameter of your work and multiply it by π (3.14) to calculate the finished circumference. The hat is designed with slight negative ease for a secure and comfortable fit.

The length is also easy to customize. You can finish the hat slightly earlier for a shallower fit or add one additional stitch repeat when using finer yarn.

Sizes

Instructions are included for two adult sizes.

As with any fitted hat, checking the gauge before starting is recommended to achieve the intended fit.
