Rosebud
We love the arrival of Spring in our household, not least of all because of what it does to our garden! The ruffles on the front of this sweater are inspired by the flowers that burst into life to reveal layers of delicate petals, while the bobbles represent the buds that are yet to bloom and show off their full beauty.
This little sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down. Regular raglan increases form the body and sleeves until the split at the underarms where the sleeve stitches are put on hold to be worked once the body is complete. The line of bobbles down the front are knitted as part of the main body but the stitches for the ruffles are picked up and worked at the very end.
Originally designed for Issue 178 of Knit Now magazine.
