Some yarns tell you exactly what they want to be.

Inspired by the buttery-soft merino from Annabel Williams Textiles, this asymmetrical shawl features an all-over stitch pattern reminiscent of rolling fields of wheat. Simply constructed and soothing to knit, the resulting shawl is wearable year round, making this design a fitting choice for wool that has recently spoken to you!

Yardage:
787 yds / 720 m of DK weight yarn

Suggested Yarn:
Organic Merino DK from Annabel Williams Textiles
** this design is suitable for other yarn weights, just be mindful that your yardage needs will change*

Gauge:
22 stitches x 23 rows = 4” / 10 cm square in st st on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles before blocking

Measurements:
Pattern includes a schematic of suggested measurements, such as a wingspan of 61” / 155 cm. But the final measurements are simply a guideline because shawls are very flexible in the blocking stage. You may block as gently or aggressively as you wish.

Suggested Needles:
US 7 / 4.5 mm circulars, long enough to hold a large number of stitches

Notes:
This asymmetrical design starts at the narrowest point and ends at the widest. The simple construction means you can easily substitute other yarn weights (keeping in mind your yardage needs will change). Also, you can repeat the stitch pattern more than the instructions call for, or stop sooner - it’s completely up to you!

For ease of use, the stitch pattern is charted and also has written instructions.
