Rosehip is a comfy and stylish sweater, which is bound to become a staple in your wardrobe! The sweater is worked up in simple stockinette stitch, spiced up with the coolest bobbles. It features dramatic balloon sleeves and a folded neckband. The bobbles and the balloon sleeves create a unique look which can be paired with many different outfits. This is quite an easy knit - suitable for advanced beginners. Rosehip is designed with Fonty Mongolia 3 – a lovely merino/baby yak blend which is available in a bunch of stunning colors. Rosehip is worked in the round from the bottom up, then divided at the armholes to work front and back separately. The sleeves are worked in the round by picking up stitches around the armhole. Rosehip is designed to have some positive ease around the bust (approx. 0 – 10 cm / 0 – 4 inches).

SIZES:
XS (S, M, L) (XL, 2XL, 3XL) (4XL, 5XL)

Choosing the right size is of utmost importance. Take your body measurements and choose the size that corresponds with them. The recommended ease for this design is approx. 0-10 cm (0-4 inches) of positive ease. The measurements below are the finished garment measurements, not your own.

Chest circumference:
84, (93, 102, 112) (121, 130, 140) (149, 158) cm
33, (36½, 40, 44) (47½, 51, 55) (58½, 62) inches

Armhole depth:
18 ½, (18½, 23¼, 23¼) (23¼, 28, 28) (28, 28) cm
7¼, (7¼, 9, 9) (9, 11, 11) (11, 11) inches

The pattern includes a full size chart. Feel free to email me if you need any additional measurements.

MATERIALS:
Needles: 4.5 mm circular needle (US size 7, UK size 7) or other needle size that matches gauge. I recommend using an 80 cm or 100 cm circular needle for the body, depending on the size you’re knitting. The sleeves can be worked on a 40 cm circular needle, but DPNs or the magic loop method may be easier for the smaller sizes.

4 mm 60 cm circular needle (US size 6, UK size 8) for the neck ribbing, and 4 mm DPNs or circular needle for the sleeve ribbing. You can use DPNs or the magic loop method with a longer circular needle

Yarn: Sport weight yarn, approx. 1200, (1300, 1400, 1500) (1600, 1700, 1800) (1900, 2000) meters / 1312 (1420, 1530, 1640) (1750, 1860, 1968) (2077, 2187) yards.

I used Mongolia 3 (color 014) from Fonty for my sample. Fonty Mongolia 3 is a beautiful and soft sport weight yarn (85% merino, 15% baby yak) that comes in 50 g balls (à 150 meters / 164 yards). You can check Fonty’s store locator through this link to see if Fonty’s yarn is available in a local yarn shop near you. You can also use any other yarn that matches gauge.

Other tools: Darning needle, scissors, stitch markers, scrap yarn OR extra cable.

GAUGE:
21,5 sts x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm; on 4,5 mm needles in stockinette stitch.
