Roseta Square
This is the pattern for Roseta, one of the four tapestry crochet tiles in the Triana Blanket. The blanket is made from 20 squares, five each of four designs. The other three tiles are sold as separate patterns.
Each pattern will also include the instructions for joining them and adding the border (added on 20 November 2026).
Carmen of Off The Hook Creative and I designed the Triana Blanket together. Our inspiration was the geometric and botanical designs of Mediterranean tilework, and we named the blanket after Triana, the historic tile-making quarter of Seville. We each designed one geometric tile and one botanical tile. Roseta is my botanical one.
Roseta is a large flower with four main petals, each with three smaller petals inside it. As the floral tile in my pair, Roseta, meaning a small rose or rosette, felt like a natural name.
Like all four Triana tiles, Roseta is a solid granny square. It’s worked in the round from a magic ring, and the colourwork is tapestry crochet in two colours.
THE TRIANA BLANKET CAL
We’re running the Triana Blanket as a crochet-along during October and November 2026, with a free video tutorial accompanying each part:
- Week 1, 23 October: Sirio (Carmen)
- Week 2, 30 October: Roseta (Catherine)
- Week 3, 6 November: Oliva (Carmen)
- Week 4, 13 November: Nova (Catherine)
- Week 5, 20 November: framing, joining and border
The CAL is self-paced, so start when you like and take as long as you like.
Every tutorial and pattern link is on the CAL page, which is updated as each part is released: https://catherinecrochets.com/triana-blanket/
