These socks were designed in response to a design challenge I ran during September 2014. A series of questions were posed to members of my Ravelry and Facebook groups who voted on the key design elements of their ideal sock project and this pattern is the result.

Knitted from the cuff down, these socks feature a very simple but effective series of cables. Wonderfully easy to memorise and ideal for gifting, these unisex socks also feature an afterthought heel. The sample socks as shown (Size M) were knit with 50g main colour and 15g contrast colour for the toe and afterthought heel.

The pattern is written for magic loop but may easily be adapted to your preferred method of small circumference knitting. If you aren’t tempted by the afterthought heel you could of course substitute your heel of choice.

A sincere thank you to NZDebz and Isla111 for pointing out the errors on Row 6 and 18 of the written instructions. These have now been corrected - my my heartfelt apologies - and a new version of the pattern issued.
