The yoke is knitted sideways in a single piece, using short-rows.
The cable is worked continuously on the wide edge of the yoke.
Everything else about this sweater is super-simple so that you can concentrate on the cabled yoke. A second gauge of 7 stitches/10 rows/inch is provided. This sweater is part of a book on knitting circular yokes with short rows, then adding the torso and sleeves vertically. There are many designs based on this premise.
