This pattern was originally created for the Roving Indiana Yarn Crawl. Our special yarn for that event was a fun self-striping sock yarn created by Brenda and Heather Yarns (local Indiana dyers) and a solid West Yorkshire Spinners solid 4 ply sock yarn, but this pattern can be made with any self striping yarn paired with any solid yarn.

This wrap can be worn as a shawl or oversized scarf. It is a fun use of that special self-striping yarn you have saved up, and paired with a solid, it can stretch it to this bigger project.

Easy to knit without concentrating, so that you can visit with your friends or watch TV while working on this project.

Finished size is approximately 5 1/2 feet long as written, but you can modify it if desired.

materials needed:
One skein approx 450 yards of self striping sock yarn
One skein approx 450 yards of solid sock yarn
size 4 circular needles (40” circular)
stitch markers
optional: size 4 straight needles for the first part of the wrap
