Loosely influenced by the high contrast between brick and mortar, Rubrick is a cozy, lightweight rectangular shawl combining Garter Stitch and intarsia to show off beautiful color combinations. Whether worked in two colors or twelve, the resulting shawl will be amazing.

This shawl is all about color! Knit widthwise in multiple colors, this shawl uses a fingering weight yarn to create a painted stair-step effect. The simplicity of the Garter Stitch and intarsia color changes make for a rainbow of possibilities.

Though the pattern is written for two colors, the main color and contrast color for each section can be changed to create a shawl in up to twelve colors. Alternatively, changing only the contrast color in each section would also produce a pretty amazing seven-color shawl.
