Cloudberries were the inspiration for this mitten - those little golden clusters that grow where the summer days are long and the winters frigid. The mittens are therefore named for the berry family that includes cloudberries, raspberries and blackberries.

An abstract rendition of cloudberries cradled in a twisted-stitch motif, these textural golden clusters evoke the warmth of the fruit on a backdrop of muted winter shades. The peaked mitten tip design is at once a symbol of shelter from the winter elements and a nod to the traditional Nordic mitten shape.

These mittens are quick to knit and the colour possibilities are endless. They make great gifts for friends and family, and best of all, they will keep your hands toasty warm.

This pattern has some written instructions and some charts, but the charts are not written out in full. It is suitable for intermediate and adventurous beginner knitters.
