A devastatingly cute little version of Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, quick and easy to knit up, a perfect seasonal stocking filler. The pattern is downloadable free from charity fundraising site p/hop (pennies per hour of pleasure, working to raise money for MSF) - all we ask is a small donation to reflect how much pleasure you get from knitting this pattern!

Rudolph’s body is about 2.5in/7cm tall, and from the tips of his adorable antlers to the bottoms of his dinky little feet, he’s about 5.5in/14cm long. Gauge is not really vital to this project, it’s more important to produce a good firm close-knit fabric which will contain the stuffing. I used 3mm DPNs, but if you’re a loose knitter, it might perhaps be better to use a smaller size.

You’ll need approx 10-15 gms DK yarn in a suitably reindeerish colour for his body, ears and limbs, and scraps (1-4 yds/m), in appropriate colours for his antlers and bright red nose, with a short length of black to embroider his eyes and smile. A good handful of toy stuffing will be needed too.
