Introducing Rudy the Woodland Snail. There’s never any need to hurry home when you carry your home on your back! And what could be more inviting than a cute little mushroom house, with a cup of tea waiting inside whenever you need it? Rudy the Woodland Snail says hello.

This crochet pattern has been rated as “Easy/Intermediate” meaning it is suitable for confident beginners to amigurumi. In addition to basic crochet stitches this pattern assumes you have knowledge of working in the round, and increasing and decreasing stitches and are familiar with the front and back loops. All of these techniques can be easily learnt through free online tutorials if you are not familiar with them.

Finished product size is approximately 10cm long (from head to tail), and 8cm tall when crocheting using a 3mm hook and using 8ply/DK yarn.

Stitches used include: magic ring, chain, single crochet, increase, decrease, slip stitch

Materials needed: cotton yarn (less than 20g in 8 ply in yellow, cream and rust orange or your preferred colours, plus scraps of black and brown yarn. You will also need a crochet hook, toy stuffing, safety eyes, yarn needle to sew in ends, scissors, and stitch markers if desired.
