This sock is knit top-down, starting with a ruffled cuff achieved by casting on extra stitches, which are then decreased to continue the sock. The leg and foot maintain a classic stockinette texture, while the heel and toe are worked in garter stitch for added comfort and stretch. This combination of techniques creates a cosy, flexible fit with a touch of texture.

YARN
100g of fingering weight sock yarn (the size 1 sock in a small size may be able to get away with 50g, but I would recommend having some extra just incase)
I have used Adventure Sock Yarn in Vondelpark by Mammie and Florrie
Note: If this is your first time knitting socks I would suggest getting a wool yarn with around 25% nylon, this adds durability to the socks meaning they will last longer

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
2.25mm needles (or needles needed to obtain gauge) in either DPN’s, 9” fixed circulars or long fixed circulars for magic loop
A spare needle or stitch holder
A stitch marker
Darning needle

For the frill we start with lots more stitches than the main body of the sock, I found I could work this on my 9” circulars for the size 2 sock. If you are using 9” fixed circulars or DPNs, the first few rows might be a bit overcrowded, you may want to consider using some longer needles for this section if you are struggling, especially for the larger sizes of the sock.

GAUGE
9 stitches per inch
You don’t need to worry about row gauge as this is done by measurements
Note: Make sure you block your swatch before measuring gauge!

SIZING
Below is the circumference measurements of the finished socks, I recommend choosing a size that gives you 1-2” or 2.5-5cm negative ease.

6” (7”) 8” (9”) or 15.3cm (17.8cm) 20.3cm (22.9cm)
