Ruffled Waters Shawl
Water has always been a source of relaxation for me, as well as knitting. I thought to combine the two into a meditative and relaxing knit. A winged triangle shawl with garter stripe color changes and a ruffled edge. This is a great shawl for confident beginners or for TV/ vacation knitting for more advanced knitters.
Materials:
Yarn: While I chose the 3 blue colors to form the gradient don’t shy from choosing other colors for this shawl, maybe you want fire ruffles or charcoal ruffles to keep you warm during the winter or you want to go dark to light with the gradient instead of light to dark. It’s all up to you!
Kit Picks Preciosa Tonal is a strong worsted single ply merino wool yarn with soft drape and feel. It is limited in its colors so any single ply worsted that is strong but soft would do well in this shawl pattern.
Color A: (1) skein of Knit Picks Preciosa Tonal – Blue Skies (now discontinued, but Stormy would be a good substitute) – 100% Merino Wool 273 yards/100 grams
Color B: (2) skeins of Knit Picks Preciosa Tonal – Crest – 100% Merino Wool 273 yards/100 grams
Color C: (3) skeins of Knit Picks Preciosa Tonal – Captain – 100% Merino Wool 273 yards/100 grams
-if you want ruffles longer than 2 inches I would suggest a 4th skein would give about 3 to 3.5 inches of ruffles
Needles: ChiaoGoo US 9 (5.5mm) 60” circular needles – with the ruffles you will absolutely need the long cord
