This knit and purl afghan strip pattern is very simple. There are 4 pattern rows with 24 stitches in every row. Narrow columns of stockinette stitch separate garter stitch ribbing. I also included a plainer, reversible version without the stockinette stitches that’s great for “keeping hands busy”.

Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl and bind off.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

54 yards of Wool of the Andes Tweed yarn will make 10 inches of this 24-stitch afghan strip.
