This shawl features a unique cable stitch that is combined with a little known lace stitch. Combined, they make a striking shawl. It is a fun knit, and goes fairly quickly as it’s knit using heavy fingering weight yarn. For those of you that enjoy knitting cable lace, I think this cable will intrigue you. Even most veteran cable knitters will probably find this particular cable new and different from most that they have knitted.

The stitches are both written out and charted, but it’s helpful to be able to refer to the chart.

Skill level: Intermediate (assuming a working knowledge of cable and lace knitting).

The shawl/stole was expertly test knitted by Julie Anderson, who can be reached at: kuli.anderson@charter.net The shawl was knit using Lorna’s Sportmate Yarn in colorway, Sage.
