Saddle Shoulder Aran Cardigan WG63 SO49

This pattern is available from schoolhousepress.com for $7.99.

From Schoolhouse Press:

A beloved classic design from Meg Swansen, featuring stunning Aran cables, with a continuous pattern from cuff to cuff across the sleeves and set-in Saddle-Shoulder. Knitted in our Canadian Regal wool with a one-piece, mitered buttonband/neck edging. In multiple sizes with updated charts.

Print version comes in a 3-hole, archival quality sheet protector.

Additional Info:

The cardigan is based on EPS, where you take the measure of your body under your arms, and multiply that with the gauge of your swatch in your chosen yarn.  It is recommended that you knit a large swatch, including the Aran patterns from the design.  Four yarn choices are given - Canadian Regal (used in the pattern) and Satakieli for Bavarian Twisted Stitch version, and Sheepswool or Rangeley Wool for faster knitting.

The cardigan is knit in the round, from lower edge to underarm, including steeks in the front and around the neck.  Sleeves are knit from cuff to underarm, the underarm stitches from both sleeves and body are put on hold, and then the body and sleeves are united.  The yoke shaping begins with set-in sleeve and ends with saddle shoulder worked back and forth, perpendicular to the body.
