The main design element of the Sahlenburg shawl is the slip stich. This technique is used both in the colour and construction in a playful manner. Additionally, the combination of different yarns and switching right and wrong sides during knitting adds to the effect of knitting a complex shawl.
Stacked stitches are used to create the border of waves.
The construction as a Half-Pi Shawl allows you to knit your repeats without worrying about the increases too often and allows you to take it with you when travelling or commuting.
The featherlight Mohair makes this shawl perfect for long, cool summer evenings
and is also gentle to your skin as well as warming you in draughty autumn offices.

The half-pi consists of 4 construction parts of which you can repeat the third part to increase to the size of your liking.

Yarn
C1 white - Rowan Mohair Haze, 70% Mohair, 30% Wool, 102m per 25g, colour way 520 (Cuddle): 3 skeins, 306m
Note: Make sure you have at least two skeins available, as you will knit two skeins simultaneously.

C2 blue - Drops Lace, 70% Alpace, 30% Silk, 400m per 50g, colour way 6790: 1 skein, 160m

C3 red - Drops Lace, 70 % Alpaca, 30% Silk, 400m per 50g, colour way 3620: 1 skein, 96m

Note: The Drops Lace is now discontinued. For substitution, choose a laceweight yarn with a smooth, twisted structure to make a stark contrast towards the fluffy Mohair Haze. Also, Rowan is discontinuing the Mohair Haze. For substitution, choose a fingering weight yarn with a fluffy texture.
