Sai is a bottom-up vest featuring an allover lace and cable motif. It has a V-neck that is finished with a plain stockinette edge. The body begins with 2x2 ribbing, leading into the simple lace and cable design. The body is knitted straight without any shaping until the front and back are separated, which are then knitted straight up to the neckline and back shaping. The vest is completed with short rows and a three-needle bind-off.
Sai is perfect for warm weather, as it is lightweight, airy, and oversized with the V-neck adding an extra breathability to the vest. Despite being knitted with small needles, it is surprisingly quick and easy to knit thanks to the four-row repeat of the motif.

The vest can be worn with less or more ease than suggested if preferred for more fitted or oversized look

The name came from the anime character in Naruto, Sai. As I was working on the vest and thinking of a name, I kept thinking that this is something that Sai would wear, although he’d style it differently than I would, nonetheless, it would look good on him and suit him, so it was only fitting that I name the vest after him
