When my ex-Navy stepdad had a stroke and went into rehab, I wanted to knit something useful that would also show my support and immediately thought of those ugly terry cloth wristbands people use to keep their grip from slipping. The result is a tightly knit cotton wristband with ribbing to keep it snug and an embossed anchor to keep it interesting. A quick and easy knit, with endless variations possible, it makes a great stashbuster!
All pattern sale proceeds will go into a fund to help out my stepdad, since his insurance has decided that if you’re 63 then you don’t need to relearn how to write or drive if you can retire. Even if you’re self-employed!
This pattern is written for the Magic Loop technique, dpns may be substituted.
This pattern is worked in the round from the bottom up.
Size alterations can easily be made by adding or subtracting 4 sts (in the ribbing), remember it does have to slide over the hand so take that into consideration.

I seem to have misplaced the picture I had of the backside of the wristband, but it is in 2x2 rib.
