Sailor Light
SAILOR LIGHT - TEE and TUNIC is worked in stockinette stitch with stripes
worked in a slipped stitch pattern. The slipped stitch pattern
is straightforward. In this project, what looks like a stranded
pattern is knitted with one color at a time, lowering the
difficulty level.
SAILOR LIGHT is worked seamlessly from the top down. It
has a simple silhouette with the shoulder line pushed forward.
First, the neck rib edge is worked in the round, then short rows
are worked to shape the neckline, and then the work is continued
in the round until the total shoulder width is achieved. After
this, the work is divided into front and back sections, and each
section is worked back and forth separately to the bottom of
the armholes. The sections are then joined again to form the
body which is worked in the round. New stitches for the sleeves
are picked up and knitted along the armholes, and short rows
are worked to shape the top of the sleeve. The sleeves are then
worked in the round on a circular needle.
Throughout the pattern you will find links for short videos
demonstrating the techniques. You can also find these videos on
my YouTube channel.
