This uniquely shaped shawl was inspired by the gentle slope of Saints Rest Beach shoreline, one of my favourite places on the outskirts of the city I call home. I spent many sunsets on this stretch of sand in my younger days and now it’s a peaceful haven … a place to listen to the waves roll in, watch the changing shapes on the sand and knit.

This shawl is knit with 2 balls of Yarn In The Box by Done Roving Great Gradients in the glorious Navajo Sand Paint colourway and 4 US/3.75 mm needles. The colours fit perfectly with my visions of this beach with the brown sand, orange sunsets, green seaweed covered rocks and beautiful blue water.

It starts with the center back panel and builds out on each side with the fun Belgian Lace Border incorporated in the rows. Tossed on over a tank top, swimsuit or sundress, it’s great for any occasion.

Finished blocked measurements are 64” along upper edge, 120” along bottom edge and 24” back length.

This pattern is relatively easy for a fairly experienced knitter but perhaps not so for a beginner, unless they have an experienced knitter to assist. There are no videos or online assistance with the instructions.
