Sakura Mittens
Pattern Overview
Featuring a beautiful colorwork design inspired by sakura cherry blossoms, these mittens are designed to be knit with a thick yarn for extra warmth during the cold winter months. The pattern includes both written instructions and colorwork charts for each available size.
These mittens are a great introduction to colourwork for those looking to venture into this technique. The pattern is graded as an intermediate difficulty.
The Colourwork charts are read from right to left, bottom to top when working in the round.
Yarn Suggestions
These mittens are intended to be knit with a thicker yarn to create warm mittens. The yarn should be on the bulkier side for the 20sts gauge. Two colours of yarn are required, your Contrast Colour (CC) will be the colour of the flowers, and the Main Colour (MC) is the background colour.
The pink Sample is in Size M and was knit up in:
MC: Drops Air in colour 01 held together with Drops Kid Silk Mohair in colour 38
CC: Drops Air in colour 52 held together with Drops Kid Silk Mohair in colour 13
You will need around 210 (230) 250m of the MC, and 110 (130) 150m of the CC.
