“Down by the salley gardens my love and I did meet”
William Butler Yeats

This little cowl is a soft loop of small cables and alternating ridges of stockinette and reverse stockinette. Knit in the round, it takes less than one skein of the sample yarn (about 240 yds) to make a warm and charming single loop cowl. It can be doubled in stitches and yardages to make a cowl that loops around the neck.

Gauge is not a big consideration in a cowl, but you want to be aware of what weight yarn you use in order to get the circumference for a cowl, and to get the warmth you want.
