Sally is a simple vest inspired by effortless style - the kind that feels natural and modern. I imagined this piece after reading Intermezzo by Sally Rooney, a story full of thoughtful stillness and understated beauty. I’ve always admired Sally’s effortless aesthetic and if I were to knit something for her, it would be this: a minimal, button-up vest that layers easily.

Designed in my Darwin Alpaca DK, Sally has a gentle drape and is quick to knit - perfect for slipping on over a shirt or wearing under a coat on cooler days. The vest is worked top down in stockinette, beginning with the back. Stitches are held to work the fronts, then joined to work back and forth to the ribbed hem. It features a high crew neck and a row of neat buttons down the front.

Minimal and versatile, Sally is a knit for all seasons - a celebration of simplicity and beauty of everyday wear.
