It is possible to substitute this yarn for another DK,
worsted spun yarn with a similar meterage / yardage that has good stitch definition.

YARDAGE
Note: yardage is estimated and may vary depending on yarn choice, modifications to the pattern and gauge.

Estimated yarn requirements in metres: 1054 1129, 1228, 1279, 1388, 1471, 1495, 1547, 1589 m

Estimated yarn requirements in yards: 1153 1235, 1343, 1399, 1518, 1609, 1635, 1692, 1738 yds

52 m (56 yd) of extra yarn for swatching has been included in the yarn requirements.

With the cable detail on this sweater, it is really important to swatch and block both stocking stitch and the cable pattern. With the two different gauges in this garment, swatching is key to success.

The Salt and Pepper Sweater is designed with the yarn in mind. The Jacob fleece has a beautiful, rich depth to it in its natural, undyed form. It is spun incorporating the beautiful dark and light shades that are quintessential to Jacob sheep. There is a discrete cable panel running under the arm of the sweater. The beauty of cables is how they connect and twist stitches into new directions, they bring together and then move apart. I guess in my eyes, cables show growth and in terms of this pattern, Salt and Pepper, you can probably guess it’s about surrounding the aging process within every living being with love, hope and excitement for what is coming next.
