Salty Companion
What does salt do???
All proceeds from sale of this pattern will be donated to Indiana Undocumented Youth Alliance.
As an Imbolc Gift, the Salty Ear/Neck Warmer is free through the month of February. This is a complimentary companion piece to The Salty Hat. This beginner friendly, versatile knit easily shifts between being oversize ear warmers to a cowl/face covering depending on the weather and situation. Knit in soft Blue Sky Fiber Woolstok, it will keep you warm and cozy no matter how cold it is.
Even though the yarn is held double throughout, it only uses one 50g skein (123 yards) of main color, and one 50g (123 g) skein of counter color. I used Thermal Spring for the mc and Red Rock for the cc.
Any lofty, woolen spun yarn will work well for this pattern, but beware of super wash or worsted spun yarn because of the longish floats at the back. If you wish to use a chunky weight yarn, or two DK strands plus a strand of mohair, that would also work.
Included in the pattern are links to color work, tubular cast on and tubular bind off.
This is a unisex garment, finished dimensions are 22” in circumference and 6” wide.
