I have a great love for scrappy quilts. I wanted to translate that idea to a knitted item. I’ve used six different stitch patterns of knit and purl, lace, eyelets, slip stitches, and knot making to create a scrappy section with each of them reminding me of a quilting pattern or fabric. Use these six sections as a ‘recipe’ to create your own scarf by repeating a section more or less.

I’ve used Madeline Tosh Merino Light in this sample in the Rose colorway. I used all by 4 grams of my skein by doing all the repeats as written. I aggressively blocked it widthwise to open up the stitches measuring 7”. This created a super light and airy fabric. I blocked, not aggressively, lengthwise to measure 76”
