Pattern description from Knitting in America: “For Alice’s beach tunic (page 144), Sue first create a stitch pattern that look like fishnet (adapting a lace stitch pattern she found in a Mon Tricot stitch guide), then graphed a sand castle scene on her computer. Finally, she added the starfish appliqué. The matching accessories (see right) - a starfish hat and purse - are especially fur for young children. The entire ensemble is made with Reynolds Saucy, a mercerized cotton. The pattern appears on page 214.”
