Pattern Description from Interweave Knits, Winter 2008:
Knitters think of tweed as a yarn type, but it originally refers to a woven fabric. The close lace patterns of the Sandlewood Socks echo the deep texture of woven tweed even in a plain yarn. Caitlin Stevens uses three different laces to create a richly textured effect.

Finished Size: 8” foot circumference and 8¼“ long from back of heel to tip of toe. To fit U.S. women’s shoe sizes 7–8.

Yarn: Louet Gems Fingering Weight (100% merino; 185 yd [169 m]/50 g): #44 sandalwood, 2 skeins.

Needles: Size 1 (2.25 mm): set of 4 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m); tapestry needle.
