Pattern Notes
This basket is constructed with a circle base in smaller cording, which is bound off for stability. Then the sides of the basket are worked with larger cording. The base can be a knitted or crocheted circle. The body can be worked on US 50 circular knitting needles or hand-knitted without needles.

Working with the thick upholstery cording can be challenging. Take breaks as needed and use lotion to save your hands.

To finish, ends can be wrapped in tape to prevent fraying and sewed in place with needle and thread. The upholstery cording can be blocked using a damp-blocking method and shaped over a large cylinder such as a stock pot or painters bucket.
