This shawl is very simple yet very effective. It starts off small and grows and grows.

It is knitted in a lace weight yarn, one of the finest yarns you can get. The yarn I have chosen for the photograph is a variegated yarn, which means the striping is made by the yarn, not by changing yarns. Perfect!

This shawl will look just as delicate and scrumptious in a lovely fine merino or cashmere yarn.

CONSTRUCTION
Knitted from the top down in one piece.

TECHNIQUES USED
Cast on, knit, yarn over needle, cast off.

YARN
100g of lace weight yarn (800m per 100g)

SUGGESTED KNITTING NEEDLES
2.75mm.

GAUGE (tension)
28 stitches and 56 rows to 10cm/4ins square over garter stitch pattern. I obtained this gauge with 2.75mm needles.
It is important to obtain the correct gauge so do work a swatch before you start the pattern and change your needle size to achieve the correct gauge if you need to.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
58cm/22.75ins x 138cm/54.25ins
