The cables on this beanie pattern are reminiscent of a sandstorm, and when combined with the orange yarn, remind me of Frank Herbert’s Dune series.

This pattern was designed for the Knotty Knitters for Autism 2013 charity calendar. The Knotty Knitters can be found on Ravelry here.

The hat is knit in the round from the base of the ears to the crown.

Materials
Malabrigo Rios yarn (3.5 oz/100 g/210 yds/192 m) – 1 skein 16 Glazed Carrot or approximately 180 yds (165 m) of smooth, medium weight yarn

US-8 (5 mm) knitting needles (40”/100 cm circular needles for magic loop method, or 5 double pointed needles) or any size needed to obtain gauge
